Joey Akan berates Wizkid for using beef with Davido to promote his new Album

Popular music journalist, Joey Akan expresses disappointment in the notable singer, Wizkid for allegedly using his beef with Davido to promote his new album.

The beef between Davido and Wizkid is no longer news to netizens who have witnessed, in the past weeks, verbal onslaught issuing from Wizkid to his colleague Davido.

Although, through out the recent drama, Davido has yet to address the verbal attack from Wizkid, nor respond to the singer directly.

Wizkid had also dropped his new album, Morayo which has already broken some records on various streaming platforms.

The popular journalist, Joey Akan has opined that the singer had only used the drama with Davido to promote his new Morayo album.

In his opinion, he believes that Wizkid had only hit up the music polity by dragging Davido in order to ensure that his new songs gain a wide reach.

His words …

“It’s such a disappointing realization that beef is part of the marketing campaign for “Morayo.”

I have difficulty believing that an artist of his calibre, feels the need to engage in blatant polarisation. Overlapping the chaos and heating up the music polity within release week to grow his blast radius.

It cheapens Wizkid. It cheapens his legacy as a cultural leader, and absolutely demystifies him. 2 decades of leading from the front, loses its shine when beef — especially beef without diss records — has become a tool for marketing.

It takes from his moment, eroding the importance of his new creative era with the reductive slime of acrimony.”
