Jamie Carragher slams former Man United stars who defended Ronaldo amid face-off with club and Erik Ten Hag
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has defended Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag, who Cristiano Ronaldo lashed out at in a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.
The Portuguese superstar who expressed his unhappiness and frustration since returning to the club, had said that he ‘doesn’t respect’ current United boss Ten Hag.
Carragher who has continuously criticized Ronaldo since he came back to United in the summer of 2021, leading to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner brutally snubbing him at Old Trafford, reacted to the interview by claiming that “99%” of Man United supporters will back Ten Hag over the winger.
He tweeted;
“Ronaldo “I don’t respect the manager”
“Ronaldo under ETH: Announced he wanted to leave, refused to come on as a substitute, walked off the bench and left before the game had finished.
“9% of United fans will be on the side of ETH, which shows how badly Ronaldo has handled this.”

Carragher followed up his original post with another message, quipping that former United teammates Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, and Roy Keane who have defended Ronaldo during his face-off with the club in the past, will be the “1%” that back his stay at the English side.
He added;
“The 1% will be Rio, Roy & Patrice….”
