Early Life

Jake Flint was born in 1985 in Oklahoma, United States. Little is known about his early life, parents, and education.

He grew up in Hodgenville, an oilfield boom town in southeast Oklahoma. His father was a wildcat oilman. Flint grew up with an older sister. Later, he relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was always the misfit rural kid in town.

Flint became interested in music through his father, who loved it. As a child, he and his father were influenced by performers John Denver, Dire Straits, James Taylor, and other Texas-based singers and songwriters.

He and his elder sister were struggling to fit in as city kids, so they listened to a lot of 90s grunge rock like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana.

Jake died barely a few hours after the wedding, leaving behind only his wife. The Oklahoma vocalist was just 37 years old.
