Jack Wilshere to leave Arsenal U18 to join Norwich as first-team coach

Jack Wilshere will drop his role as Arsenal’s Under-18 head coach to join Norwich City as a first-team coach, according David Ornstein.

The 32-year-old will step down from his Arsenal duties on Wednesday before starting with Norwich the following day.

Wilshere, who played 197 first-team games for Arsenal, has been coaching the Gunners Under-18s since 2022, leading them to the FA Youth Cup final in his first season.

Ornstein reports that the former midfielder’s connection with Norwich’s sporting director, Ben Knapper, who previously worked as Arsenal’s loans manager, played a key role in facilitating the move.

He adds that Wilshere sees the opportunity to coach at the first-team level as an important development in his post-playing career.

Norwich, currently seventh in the Championship, hope Wilshere’s addition will further strengthen their push for promotion.
