Italy thrashed out of Euro 2024 by ruthless Switzerland

This marked the fourth time in the tournament that Italy had conceded first, but unlike previous occasions, they could not mount a comeback.
Switzerland doubled their lead just 27 seconds into the second half.
Ruben Vargas capitalized on Italy’s defensive lapse, curling a stunning shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Italy, missing the suspended Riccardo Calafiori, struggled throughout the game.
Gianluca Scamacca’s effort, which hit the post in the 73rd minute, was one of the few notable Italian attempts, but it was a weak shot.
