Interim coach Van Nistelrooy commits to supporting Amorim’s success at Manchester United
Interim Manchester United coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has pledged his support for new head coach Ruben Amorim.
The United legend has confirmed his intentions to stay and assist in the team’s transition following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal.
Van Nistelrooy, initially considered as a potential replacement for Ten Hag, expressed his dedication to his role as assistant.
“Staying here with Amorim? I’m here to help.
“Manchester United would be the only job I would take as an assistant. I really enjoyed the role and committed myself to it with great pride.”
The former striker’s influence was felt immediately during his interim leadership, where he led United to a 5-2 League Cup win over Leicester, securing a place in the quarter-finals.
Van Nistelrooy joined the coaching staff last summer and has been integral in managing the team amidst leadership changes.
His second test in charge will be against Chelsea on Sunday, as he hopes to get the Red Devils out of the second half of the Premier League table.
