Injury scare forces Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana to withdraw from Cameroon squad days before their clash against Libya.
Onana sustained a groin injury during the recent match against Mauritius, leading to his substitution. The goalkeeper is said to have undergone a tests with the medical team, revealing a condition in the pubis.
In an official statement, the Cameroonian football federation (Fecafoot) stated, “The medical imaging carried out by the doctors of the national selection revealed a condition in the pubis. Fecafoot wishes a speedy recovery to the Cameroonian international.”
The injury comes as a blow to Onana, who was starting to establish himself at Manchester United.
The goalkeeper’s absence could mean United manager Erik ten Hag turning to second choice keeper Altay Bayındır, who is yet to make his debut for the Red Devils since joining from Fenerbahce in the summer.
