Iniesta confirms interest in coaching, names Barcelona players he would sign as a manager
Andrés Iniesta, who recently announced his retirement from professional football, has already set his sights on a coaching career.
As he begins his transition into management, Iniesta was asked which current Barcelona players he would sign if he were leading a team.
Speaking to El Partidazo de Cope, the legendary midfielder named: Pedri, Marc-André ter Stegen, and Ansu Fati.
“I would sign Pedri, Ter Stegen and Ansu Fati,” Iniesta stated.
His admiration for Pedri is understandable, as the young midfielder has often been compared to Iniesta for his style of play.
Ter Stegen, Barcelona’s long-time goalkeeper, was chosen, despite recent injury struggles.
As for Fati, Iniesta acknowledged the winger’s talent and potential, even though injuries have also hindered his progress in recent seasons.
While no club has shown any interest, Iniesta is expected to begin his coaching journey soon.
