“Illiterate Government” – Wike mocks Fubara

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ridiculed Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, referring to his administration as “illiterate.”

According to reports, the ongoing feud between Wike and Fubara has stirred significant controversy, fueling tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

Speaking at a luncheon organised in honour of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Rivers State in Port Harcourt, Wike slammed Fubara over the spending in the state without a budget.

According to the former Governor, Fubara is taking a matter that should be filed at the federal high court to the state high court.

His statement reads in part: “The state assembly is challenging an illiterate government that you have no right to be spending money without a budget, and therefore, the Central Bank, Accountant General, cannot continue to release funds when it is not being budgeted.”

In other news, in response to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Nyesom Wike has fired back, calling Atiku a “serial loser” after the latter praised the recent local government elections in Rivers State.

Wike’s remarks follow the outcome of the elections, in which the Action Peoples Party (APP) won 22 out of 23 local government chairmanship positions. Atiku had implied that the results were a sign of the people’s rejection of Wike’s leadership.

However, in a counter-attack during a luncheon held in honour of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Rivers State on Saturday, Wike highlighted Atiku’s own electoral failures.

Wike said having contested the presidential election in 2019 and 2023 as the PDP candidate and lost, Atiku has been rejected by Nigerians.
