Igbo man vows not to divorce wife if he discovers children aren’t his after 10 years of marriage
An Igbo man has raised eyebrows by maintaining his stance on not divorcing his wife even if he discovers his children are not biologically his after 10 years of marriage.
In a street interview, a man was asked if he would forgive or divorce his wife if he discovered after a decade of marriage that his children were not biologically his.
His response was startling; despite the pain and unlike other men, he declared he would stay with his wife, considering 10 years a significant investment.
He expressed readiness to view the children as adopted and affirmed that his love for his wife would remain unchanged.
In Igbo culture, he explained, if a woman conceives before marrying, the child automatically belongs to her husband and not the biological father.
