“I was living comfortably before BBNaija; I had a car, dog and cat” ― BamBam
Nollywood actress and former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 3 housemate, Bamike Olowunmi, aka BamBam, has claimed that she was living comfortably in Abuja before participating in the BBNaija reality show.
Bambam further revealed that she participated in the BBNaija reality show because of her acting career and according to her, she was tired of going to movie auditions without getting on the cast, so she decided to take advantage of the publicity of the Big Brother platform to boost her career.
She disclosed this in a recent interview with TVC.
BamBam said: “I have always wanted to be in filmmaking, so I made the decision to audition for Big Brother [Naija] so I would be seen. Because after I graduated from film school, the hustle was real. I remember myself and my colleagues going to auditions, and it was just a waste of time, strength, and money.
“Sometimes, we do waka pass [minor roles], they [producers] go give you N5k. And I left Abuja [to Lagos to pursue my movie career]. I was actually comfortable in Abuja, where I was. I had a 9-to-5 job. I had a car, a dog, and a cat.”
She said that after she came out of the Big Brother show, her career skyrocketed.
Gistreel reports that BamBam found love in the Big Brother house and both got married in 2019.
It all started like a joke when she and another housemate of the opposite sex, Teddy A, started a thing in the house, viewers thought it was the normal love strategy in the house but we were all starstruck when Teddy popped the “Will you marry me” question in 2019.
The couple welcomed their first child, Zendaya, in 2020, and their second child, Maya, in March 2022.
In related news, BamBam was featured on Punch Saturday Beats recently and she spoke on how she feels about cyber bullies and their opinions, stating that she only cares about her husband’s opinions and not what cyber trolls say.
According to her, everyone is entitled to hold and make whatever opinion they wish; however, those that matter most to her are those of Teddy A, her husband.
She said: “I do not care about trolls (cyber bullies), because it is important that the world knows that everyone is entitled to their opinions. It will only matter if the troll is from my mother and my father. Even at that, what matters the most is what I feel about myself. My husband is the only one who can hurt me with his words because I love him so much. His opinion matters the most to me. I do not live for trolls unless I want to be suicidal.”
