‘I love marriage’ – May Edochie refutes claims of promoting divorce
May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie responds to criticism and accusations of promoting divorce following her husband’s second marriage.
It would be recalled that May filed for divorce in 2023, citing adultery after Yul’s marriage to fellow actress Judy Austin.
Since then, May has faced backlash from many who claimed she is encouraging other women to leave their marriages.
In an interview on Glasshouse Podcast with comedian AY Makun, the mother who lost her first son emphasized the support she receives from her online family, noting how dependable they have been.
When asked about the claims of ‘promoting divorce,’ May clarified her stance, saying, “Some men see me as someone that is misleading their wives.”
She added, “I love family and marriage, but there is a misconception about marriage that is totally different. Ideally, marriage is the basis of family. Because there would be no you or me without family. That is how it used to be.”
May emphasized that she is not an advocate for divorce, stating, “Let me categorically state it now that I’m not an advocate for divorce.”
