“I can’t wait to get back” – Pogba breaks silence after reduced doping ban

France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has expressed relief after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his doping ban from four years to 18 months.

The decision, confirmed on Friday, follows the initial suspension imposed by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal in February 2023.

Pogba, who will be eligible to return to football on March 11, 2025, just before his 32nd birthday, shared his thoughts on social media.

He wrote, “Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again.”

He reiterated his stance on maintaining integrity, stating, “I never knowingly breached anti-doping regulations.”

Pogba also thanked CAS for hearing his explanation and supporters for standing by him during what he described as a “distressing period,” adding “I can’t wait to get back on the pitch!”
