How Iniubong Umoren's murderer, Uduak Akpan tried to strangle a lawyer after he was sentenced The killer of Iniubong Umoren, Uduak Akpan is said to have drastically turned violent in the courtroom after he was sentenced to death.

Iniubong Umoren was a Second Class (Upper Division) graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo and went in search of a job prior to her NYSC programme but never returned.

Investigative journalist, David Hundeyin in a tweet, stated that he spoke with the deceased’s sister, Ifiok and she told him that after the sentence was read out, Uduak Akpan resisted handcuffing and tried to strangle one of the lawyers in the courtroom.

However, he was overpowered by some prison officials.

The tweet reads:

“Just came off the phone with Ifiok, Ini Umoren’s sister who was at the court today. 

She said that after his verdict and sentence was read out, Uduak Akpan resisted handcuffing and tried to strangle one of the lawyers in the courtroom before he was overpowered.”
