How Iniubong Umoren’s murderer, Uduak Akpan allegedly tried to strangle a lawyer after he was sentenced

The killer of Iniubong Umoren, Uduak Akpan is said to have drastically turned violent in the courtroom after he was sentenced to death.

Today 4th August, a High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State condemned the lad to death by hanging for raping and killing the 24-year-old job seeker last year, 2021.

Iniubong Umoren was a Second Class (Upper Division) graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo and went in search of a job prior to her NYSC programme but never returned.

Investigative journalist, David Hundeyin in a tweet, stated that he spoke with the deceased’s sister, Ifiok and she told him that after the sentence was read out, Uduak Akpan resisted handcuffing and tried to strangle one of the lawyers in the courtroom.

However, he was overpowered by some prison officials.
