Harry Kane praises his teammates after 3-3 draw with Germany
Tottenham Hotspur and England top player Harry Kane has insisted that his national team should be proud of the last game result before the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Three Lions ended the encounter with a 3-3 draw with former world champions Germany. England went 2-0 down in the second half after Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan scored a penalty and Kai Havertz sent a rocket into England’s net.
However, Man United defender Luke Shaw made the scoreline 2-1 before Mason Mount equalized. England looked safe to win the game after Harry Kane made it 3-2 only for Kai Havertz to equalize for the Germans.
But Kane has praised his teammates, saying that hat they should be proud of the result following their recent poor performance.
“I am proud of the boys and now we have a busy six weeks or so before we get ready for the World Cup,” Kane said.
“It was a lot better. I thought we played really well, we were unfortunate to go 2-0 behind, it was a mistake and then a great goal from the edge of the box.
“We did really well to stay in the game, to get back into it, get into the lead, and then unfortunately another error. The mentality and fight of the team were out there. We didn’t get the win but we can be proud of what we did and it puts us in a good place ahead of the World Cup.”
