Groom calls off wedding over genotype incompatibility

An already planned wedding has been called off due to genotype compatibility issues, as revealed in a heartfelt post by the groom.

The announcement detailed the couple’s decision to part ways after discovering they were both carriers of the AS genotype, a pairing that significantly increases the risk of having children with sickle cell disease.

In the emotional statement by an X user @inn_sheikh, Ibraheem Muhd expressed his devastation over the unexpected turn of events.

He wrote, “Dear friends and family, it’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I regretfully announce the cancellation of my upcoming wedding. Due to unforeseen genetic compatibility issues, my partner and I have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways.

“As you can imagine, this news comes as a devastating shock, and my heart is shattered into a million pieces. We were both eager to start our life together, but unfortunately, our genotypes (AS + AS=!!) posed insurmountable health risks.
