Glo hosts employees, celebrates long serving staff

In celebration of excellence, dedication to service and loyalty, digital solutions provider, Globacom, on Saturday night at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, celebrated its long-serving employees at a high-octane party themed, “Twenty and Unlimited”.

At the exquisite party which was held as part of Globacom’s 20th Anniversary celebration, a total of 89 staff members who had worked for the company from inception in 2003 were rewarded with several millions of Naira each.

Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom, Mrs. Bella Disu, who spoke at the event, expressed the delight of the Board and Management of the company with the awardees for their contribution to the growth of the company in the last 20 years.

She said the need to reward and encourage them to keep striving for greater excellence underscored the essence of the party.

She said, “This year, I want us to move forward with even greater zeal and energy than we had in our first two decades, and I want you know without a doubt that your work is the foundation and key to our future.”

This year, we are committed not only to our company’s growth but to your individual success.”

The mega party with members of staff from across the country all dressed in monochrome fashion of Glo colour-compliant dresses and costumes in attendance was also attended by Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke; Ovation Publisher, Dele Momodu; Nollywood stars, Ego Boyo, Ini Edo, Juliet Ibrahim, and Bolanle Ninalowo, as well as comedian Broda Shaggi, and fashion icon, Mai Atafo.

It was a fun-filled evening as the trio of Wande Coal, and Glo ambassadors Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka and Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe popularly known as Kizz Daniel delighted the guests with beautiful vibes that kept the Glo staff dancing all night.

The evening featured different competitions for staff with winners receiving different cash rewards from the company.

In Mr. Glo competition, Ifoghale Ashaka came first, while the duo of Hakeem Obayomi and Olalekan Agbaje were first and second runners-up.

Mr. Glo won N2 million, while Hakeem and Olalekan went home with N1million and N750, 000 respectively.

Also, Miss. Gift Okafor was crowned Miss Glo, winning N2milion, while Favour Akinbayo won N1million as first runners-up, with Faith Chika Obi, the second runners-up receiving N750,000.

The Best dressed male and female also won N500,000 each.

In the dancing competition, Tegha Mobaghan won N500,000 in the female category with Abiola Agunbiade winning the same prize in the male category.

Chukwudi Okorie and Otesanya Adetayo were winners in the singing competition winning N500,000 each as well.

There was also food “quaffing” competition which attracted N500,000 to the winners in the male and female categories, while 20 early birds (first to arrive at the party) won N250,000 each just as 50 Midnight Owls (last to leave) also got N500,000 each in the two gender categories.

There was also the surprise award of N250,000 which was drawn in the full glare of the attendees and 50 lucky staff were presented with their prizes.
