Glo bags consumer awards, commits to greater excellence

Glo bags consumer awards at the second annual Consumer Value Awards for its significant contributions to the telecoms industry’s growth.

The second edition of the annual Consumer Value Awards, was held on Thursday in Lagos where Globacom won in two significant categories for the company’s enormous contributions to the growth of the country’s telecoms industry.

Globacom, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary, won the awards for “Best Value for Money Data & ISP Brand of the Year 2023” and “Best Value for Money Telecommunication Service of the Year 2023” at the event held at the Radisson Blu Hotels in Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

The event’s organizer, Mr. Akonte Ekine, Managing Director of Brand Xchange, noted in his welcome address that the Consumer Value Awards are a distinguished set of online awards designed to raise awareness of consumer rights and support brand excellence in the country.

Consumers vote online for the winners, and Brand Xchange tabulates the results.

“Globacom emerged as “Best Value for money Telecommunication Service of the Year 2023” and “Best Value for Money Data & ISP Brand of the Year 2023″, after polling a total of 56% and 53% respectively of the votes by consumers, showing the level of acceptability of the brand across the country.”

“Glo and other winners have shown relentless commitment to consumer- centricity”, Mr. Ekine explained.

In accepting the accolades on behalf of the company, Globacom’s Head of Enterprise Business, Zakari Usman, thanked Nigerians for supporting Glo and called the honour an excellent 20th anniversary gift from Nigerians.

He gave them his word that the business will keep providing superior edge and services to its customers.

“The Glo brand had in the last 20 years of operation shown its commitment to innovative service delivery, excellent customer experience and empowerment of Nigerians.”

“We will continue to delight Nigerians with our customer-centric product and services”, he promised.

Leading figures from the public and private sectors, including the representatives of the governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adetutu Ososanya, who is permanent secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Olumide Sogunle, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, were present at the event.

Mr. Wakil Adamu, Director of Human Resources and Administration, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Mallam Alkazeem Umar, Director of Consumer Affairs Bureau, Nigeria Communications Commission, and Mr. Solebo Adebayo, General Manager, Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency also graced the occasion.
