“Get it in 2 weeks” – New 5 simple steps to apply for your international passport from your home
Nigeria’s Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has unveiled five new simple ways for citizens to apply for international passports from the comfort of their homes.
The announcement was made through the minister’s official Twitter account on X (formerly Twitter).
To initiate the application process, fresh applicants are required to meet certain criteria.
Firstly, applicants must be Nigerian citizens and possess a National Identification Number (NIN).
Additionally, a passport photograph meeting the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, along with other supporting documents, is essential.
The application process involves the following steps:
- Enter the NIS link and then enter your NIN to auto-fill your data from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
- Complete other data fields as required.
- Upload photographs of your passport and other supporting documents.
- Walk into an immigration office for your biometric capture.
- Your passport is ready for collection within two weeks.
