Future Chelsea star Willian Estevao reveals shirt number he wants at Stamford Bridge
Future Chelsea star Willian Estevao has opened up about the shirt number he would want to wear at Stamford Bridge.
Estevao has been granting numerous interviews recently, ahead of his big-money move to Chelsea next summer, by what time he has turned 18.
Recall Chelsea agreed a deal with Brazilian club Palmeiras this summer which could be worth up to £51m for the 17-year-old, who will link up with his new team-mates next summer.
In an interview with ESPN Brazil, Estevão was asked his plans for shirt number at Chelsea, and he responded: “If they give me the shirt 41 as I have at Palmeiras, it will be cool!”
In a different interview, he revealed why he joined Chelsea, amid several top clubs that showed interest in him.
“I decided for Chelsea because of their planning, I was very pleased with that,” he told The Guardian.
“Not just for me, but also for my family. It was the club that believed in me and trusted in my work. I hope I can pay that back.”
The teenage sensation is Chelsea’s most expensive buy from South America with the club really targeting that market since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over.
