The decision to implement the new minimum wage was reached following a significant meeting between Governor Fubara and representatives of the Organised Labor in the state.

This meeting took place at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday.

During the discussions, both parties engaged in constructive dialogue regarding the economic conditions affecting workers and the need for a wage adjustment to better support the workforce.

The new minimum wage will take effect on November 2024.

As you may know, the Federal Government and the Organized Labour had agreed on N70,000 as the new minimum wage.
