Frank Lampard tipped for managerial return with MLA side Charlotte FC
Frank Lampard is on the verge of making a return to football management, with reports indicating he’s being considered by Charlotte FC.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) team are in the process of appointing a new manager after parting ways with their former coach Christian Lattanzio, after a historic qualification for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Charlotte FC suffered a 5-2 defeat to the New York Red Bulls in the playoffs, leading to the departure of Lattanzio.
As they seek a new leader for their upcoming season, both Lampard and former Aston Villa manager Dean Smith are in contention.
Lampard who previously managed Chelsea, Derby County, and Everton, has a notable connection to the MLS, having ended his playing career with New York City FC.
However, he faces competition from Smith, whose last managerial role was with Leicester.
The Sun Sports disclosed that the decision on Charlotte FC’s new manager is expected to be finalized within the next two weeks.
