Fans express anger, calls on organizers to ban Doja Cat from Met Gala after wearing wet T-Shirt and bathroom towel to event
American singer Doja Cat has caused an uproar online after she stormed the Met Gala wearing a wet T-shirt and bathroom towel.
Many were excited to see what Doja Cat will wear to this year’s event at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York after arriving at the red carpet of the previous year’s Met Gala, which honored Karl Lagerfield’s cat, Choupette.
More disappointingly, Doja Cat stormed the Met Gala for the ‘The Garden of Time’ theme, which was based on a J.G. Ballard short tale from 1962, and this year’s exhibit topic, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” wearing an oversized t-shirt that was wet and appeared like it was right out of the shower.
Doja appears to have come straight from the bathroom onto the carpet in her first clothing, with one towel wrapped around her torso and another on her head.
Additionally, her makeup appears to have run down her face.
In the second image, Doja is seen taking off her hair towel to reveal her bleached blonde hair and is dressed in what appears to be an oversized t-shirt drenched in water.
Netizens quickly flocked to social media to express their opinions on the appearance.
One X user said: “If this is her only outfit then don’t invite Doja Cat next year. Take note Anna Wintour. Didn’t you ban her from Met Gala last year?”
“She’s never getting invited again i fear,” another added.
A third commented: “Doja cat should be banned from the #metgala if this is the final look…”
“Doja Cat – “I would’ve sent her home and banned her from all future Met Galas for wearing this nonsense 0/10,” a fourth resolved.”
