Como’s co-owner Cesc Fabregas is reportedly looking to secure a loan deal for Chelsea’s young centre-back Alfie Gilchrist.
The Athletic reports that the Italian club faces competition from Preston North End for the 20-year-old defender.
Gilchrist made his breakthrough into Chelsea’s first team during the 2023-24 season, starting five of his 17 appearances and scoring one goal.
His performance has caught the attention of several clubs, with Como keen to bring him to Italy.
Fabregas, a former Chelsea midfielder and currently the assistant manager of Como, may leverage his connections to influence Gilchrist’s decision to join the recently promoted Italian side.
