Fabian Blu exposes drug abuse, unpaid royalties, others at Marlian Records

Fabian Blu, a former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, has opened up about his troubling experience while signed to the controversial label.
Speaking in an interview with renowned media personality Chude Jideonwo, Fabian revealed that he was exposed to drug abuse and other dangerous lifestyles after joining the label in 2020.
He left in 2022, the same year as the late singer Mohbad, following the expiration of his contract.
Despite his exit, Fabian claimed that the record label still owed him royalties from the past five years and had not paid him a single penny. He recalled confronting Naira Marley about the matter, only to be met with laughter when he threatened legal action.
Beyond financial disputes, Fabian detailed the verbal and physical abuse he endured, as well as discrimination based on his tribe and religion. He alleged that he was labeled a “lazy artist” and sidelined because he was neither Yoruba nor Muslim.
He further revealed that he was subjected to poor living conditions in the accommodation provided by the label and was even marched out of the studio when he sought assistance from his mother.
“I got introduced to drugs in Marlian Music. They were too gangster for me. I left the label the same month Mohbad left, and they spread rumours that I was mad,” he disclosed.
