“Exactly the context I wanted” – Amorim embraces Man United struggles
Newly appointed Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has embraced the club’s current challenges.
He has declared readiness to bring a fresh approach to Old Trafford when he resumes office on the 11th.
Commenting on United’s recent difficulties, Amorim noted, “This is exactly the context I wanted because I can do things my way.”
The Portuguese manager, who will give up his role as Sporting Lisbon boss, also confirmed that Manchester United secured his release by paying above the contract clause, pushing him to make a quick decision.
“I was told it was now or never. I had three days to make my mind up, and I decided to accept; it was impossible to refuse,” Amorim revealed.
A key part of Amorim’s transition will include bringing his established coaching staff, a non-negotiable condition for his move.
“I’m going to take my coaching staff with me to Manchester United. They’re absolutely key for me. We’ve been together since Casa Pia,” he stated.
Amorim’s arrival follows Erik ten Hag’s departure after United’s recent struggles, with the club aiming to rebuild under Amorim’s leadership.
