European clubs to earn big in new Club World Cup, revamped Champions League
European clubs are set to cash in on the upcoming new Club World Cup and the revamped Champions League.
Clubs participating in both tournaments eye significant financial rewards.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, clubs participating in the new Club World Cup can expect a minimum payout of €50 million, while the minimum prize money for the restructured Champions League stands at €60 million.
The upcoming season will usher in a new era for top European clubs, featuring a revamped Club World Cup scheduled to take place in the USA in the summer of 2025.
The new format of the Champions League will see the participation of 36 clubs from across European top flights.
Meanwhile, in Italy, Inter Milan have secured their spot in the Club World Cup, and they will be joined by either Napoli or Juventus.
La Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that the prize money for the new Club World Cup totals €2.5 billion, to be distributed among all participating clubs.
The winner is set to receive €100 million, while the prize for qualification to the knockout phase is yet to be determined.
On the other hand, the minimum reward for participation in the Champions League, with a total prize pool of €2.7 billion, is €60 million each, marking a 30% increase compared to the current Champions League payouts.
