EPL: Mykhailo Mudryk scores first goal as Chelsea defeat Fulham 2-0

Mykhailo Mudryk has finally scored his first Chelsea goal in 24 appearances during Monday’s 2-0 defeat against West London rivals Fulham.

The winger who was signed for £88 million has ended his goal drought at the club, having endured a goalless run since his arrival in January.

Mudryk’s goal came when Moises Caicedo placed a through pass to academy player Harvey Colwill on the left flank.

Colwill’s up-through pass found Mudryk inside the box, who controlled the ball before calmly slotting it past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno. EPL: Mykhailo Mudryk scores first goal as Chelsea defeat Fulham 2-0

Less than two minutes after, Armando Broja capitalized on a poor pass by Fulham’s Tim Ream, sending the ball into the net.

Broja made his first Premier League start for Chelsea, since December, after recovering from a knee injury recently.

Chelsea’s victory was needed to help boost the team after failing to score a single Premier League goal throughout the month of September. The two goals this month has helped them move from the 15th position to the 11th position in the Premier League table.

Chelsea played Fulham with a second-option squad due to several injuries and suspensions. Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, and Carney Chukwuemeka were among the absentees.
