EPL: Martin Odegaard signs new Arsenal contract until 2028
Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard has signed a new contract with Arsenal that will see him stay at the London club until 2028.
The news comes after his stellar performance against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday, where the Emirates club defeated their visitors 4-0.
Odegaard, 24, expressed his excitement for his future with the Gunners and had high praise for manager Mikel Arteta.
He said, “This was such an easy decision for me because I’ve felt at home here since my very first day at Arsenal. The first time I spoke to Mikel Arteta, I knew he was a great coach and that I wanted to work with him.”
He went on to highlight Arteta’s tactical acumen, saying, “He is so smart. He sees so many details you don’t even think about. He’s capable of making you understand football in a different way because the way he explains everything makes sense.”
Odegaard also stated that he committed to Arsenal because of his belief in the club’s project. “People want to be here as part of the project because what we are doing is really special, and with so many hungry young players, it’s a great place to be.”
The Norwegian midfielder’s decision to extend his contract will no doubt, boost Arsenal’s attacking front, as they prepare for their North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
