EPL: Manchester United eye discontented Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku
As Ruben Amorim prepares to begin his tenure at Manchester United, the Red Devils are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea’s forward Christopher Nkunku.
The forward is said to be frustrated with limited appearances in domestic competitions.
According to L’Equipe, Nkunku is unhappy with primarily being fielded in the UEFA Conference League.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has favoured Nicolas Jackson for Premier League action, over the Frenchman.
Nkunku, who joined Chelsea with high expectations, now finds his playing time restricted to Europe’s secondary competition, which may prompt a transfer.
United, currently sitting 13th in the league, aim to strengthen their squad and revive their season under Amorim.
The former Sporting coach is set to arrive on Monday to prepare for his debut against Ipswich on November 24.
Following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal last month due to a poor start to the season, United’s management is eager to back Amorim with new signings, viewing Nkunku as a potential asset to boost their attack.
