EPL: Manchester United edge Everton with penalties converted by Fernandes, Rashford

Manchester United picked a 2-0 win over Everton, with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford both converting from the penalties spot.

Although he didn’t score, Alejandro Garnacho’s dazzling performance was the highlight of the encounter, running Everton’s defense ragged throughout the game.

His quick feet and speed drew two crucial fouls in the penalty area, resulting in both of United’s goals.

First was James Tarkowski who fouled him in Jordan Pickford’s box, followed by Ben Godfrey’s rash challenges.

Fernandes and Rashford calmly slotted the penalties, leaving Everton frustrated and unable to recover.

Despite Everton’s efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net.

Their woes were compounded by missed opportunities, with Dwight O’Neil hitting the post.

Amadou Onana also squandered a clear chance, blasting the ball high over the crossbar of Andre Onana’s post.
