EPL: Madueke bags hat-trick in style as Chelsea thrash Wolves 6-2

Chelsea marked their first win of the 2024/25 Premier League season in style with a humiliating 6-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Blues owe large portion of their goals to Noni Madueke, who bagged his first Premier League hat-trick.

This is in addition to a late goal from Joao Felix on his debut return to Stamford Bridge.

Nicolas Jackson opened the floodgates for the West London side early in the first half, but Wolves quickly responded through Matheus Cunha.

Cole Palmer then restored Chelsea’s lead with a fine lob that saw Wolves goalkeeper helpless, but Wolves leveled again before halftime with a strike from Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The second half belonged to Madueke. The winger put Chelsea back in front shortly after the break and then doubled his tally minutes later to make it 4-2.

Madueke completed his hat-trick just past the hour mark, with Palmer assisting all three of his goals.

Felix, making his second debut for Chelsea, came off the bench to add the final goal, sealing the emphatic win.
