EPL: Liverpool thrash Manchester United 3-0 as Arne Slot out classes Erik ten Hag
Manchester United suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford, marking their second loss in the new season.
Erik ten Hag’s men were outplayed by a masterful display from Arne Slot’s Liverpool.
Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Liverpool with two goals in the first half, both assisted by Mohamed Salah.
Salah, who was in superb form, added a third goal in the second half.
United struggled to find their footing throughout the match, with their best efforts coming late into the game.
The home side’s defense was porous, and their attack was rather toothless, managing just one shot on target in the first half.
Ten Hag’s frustration was evident as he made several changes, including substituting Casemiro at halftime after a poor performance that saw him responsible for both of Liverpool’s first-half goals.
Despite the changes, United failed to mount any significant challenge.
Liverpool have now scooped three wins from three matches this season.
United, meanwhile, were left to ponder another disappointing result in what has been a challenging start to the campaign.
