EPL: Jordan Henderson spotted filming Liverpool exit video

English footballer Jordan Henderson has been reportedly spotted filming a goodbye video for Liverpool fans ahead of his controversial transfer to Al-Ettifaq.

The Reds captain is set to move to Saudi Arabia to reunite with Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq. The pursuit of the 33-year-old veteran has been spearheaded by Reds icon Gerrard, who was appointed as the Saudi outfit’s new head coach earlier on this summer.

Fans of both clubs are still awaiting official confirmation of the switch, but it is becoming clear that Al-Ettifaq and Liverpool have reached an agreement worth £12 million for Henderson’s services in the Middle East.

The deal will also see the England international earn up to £700,000-a-week in an extravagant contract.

Henderson who was left out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour squad, was spotted filming what appeared to be a farewell message to the Liverpool fans on the Anfield pitch. It is similar to what Ruben Neves did before he left Wolves for the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Henderson was seen walking around the pitch alongside the Liverpool media team. The stadium was empty as the 33-year-old lifted his phone in front of his face to take a video.

If the deal is confirmed, it will bring an end to Henderson’s 12-year stay at Anfield, where has won seven major honours, captaining the side to Champions League and Premier League glory in particular.

Henderson has been at Anfield since 2011 and oversaw one of the most illustrious periods in the club’s recent history, skippering Liverpool to the Champions League in 2019 before ending their 30-year wait for a league title the following season.

In total, he has played 492 times for the Reds and will no doubt go down as one of Liverpool’s biggest legends for the list of silverware he has lifted.
