EPL: Haaland breaks record with brace against Brentford in City’s 2-1 win
Erling Haaland continued his remarkable goal-scoring form, netting twice as Manchester City came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Brentford.
The Norwegian striker made Premier League history by becoming the first player to score nine goals in the opening four games of a season.
Brentford stunned City early, with Yoane Wissa scoring just 22 seconds into the match, marking the fastest goal of the season.
The visitors dominated the first half, outplaying City in both possession and chances created.
However, Haaland’s clinical finishing proved decisive, leveling the score before halftime.
He added a second just before the break to give City the lead. Haaland narrowly missed a hat-trick, hitting the post and being denied by Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
Rodri returned for City in the second half as the champions took control.
With four wins from four, City continue their perfect start in defending their Premier League title.
