EPL: Crystal Palace hold wasteful Manchester United to goalless draw

Manchester United were left to rue missed opportunities in a frustrating 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Despite dominating the first half, Erik ten Hag‘s side failed to capitalize on their control, and Palace nearly punished them in the second half.

Ten Hag’s decision to bench in-form Marcus Rashford raised eyebrows, especially after he praised the striker’s recent performances.

However, Rashford’s brief appearance in the final 30 minutes did little to change the course of the game.

United came close in the first half, with Alejandro Garnacho hitting the crossbar and Bruno Fernandes narrowly missing the follow-up.

Joshua Zirkzee also squandered a header from a Christian Eriksen corner.

Meanwhile, Palace, winless in the league, showed more fight after the break.

Andre Onana pulled off a double save to deny Eddie Nketiah and Ismaila Sarr.

The hosts’ best chance came when Eberechi Eze fired wide from close range.

Former United goalkeeper Dean Henderson impressed for Palace, making key saves to keep his former club at bay.
