EPL: Brighton drop points in chaotic draw against Nottingham Forest
Brighton’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest resorted to chaos as three red cards were shown in quick succession.
This happened after Morgan Gibbs-White’s reckless tackle on Joao Pedro.
The match turned chaotic when the referee initially allowed Gibbs-White’s challenge to continue, indicating that the Forest captain had won the ball.
However, after reconsidering, Jones issued a second yellow card to Gibbs-White, sending him off and sparking fury from both team’s benches.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler and Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo were also sent off for what is now called “unacceptable technical area behaviour.”
The game, which ended 2-2, had already been intense, with Brighton’s Danny Welbeck scoring his first Premier League free kick.
On the scoresheet for Brighton’s first goal was Jack Hinshelwood, who equalized Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood 13-minute opener.
After Welbeck’s goal, Nottingham restored parity through Ramón Sosa in the 70th minute, bringing the match to 2-2 at full-time.
The game further hampers Brighton’s bright start to the season, allowing Chelsea to maintain top four position.
