EPL: Bernardo Silva is not for sale – Manchester City replies PSG and Barcelona
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona have been given short shrift in their attempts to pry Bernardo Silva away from Manchester City.
Manchester City have already lost the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan and Kyle Walker could also leave in the coming weeks.
Bernardo Silva, on the other hand, has been linked to a move away from the Etihad ever since they lifted their first-ever Champions League trophy in June, but he still remains at the club.
Bernardo had been linked to Barca as long ago as last summer, and the Catalans are reportedly once more in the hunt for the midfielder.
PSG are in the process of rebuilding their team following the exit of Lionel Messi and more Champions League disappointment in 2022-23 and are also interested in the star.
While Barcelona and PSG are still extremely keen on making a move for the Portugal international, City has made it clear what their stance is on the situation.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now followed that up by confirming that City have “no intention” of negotiating a Bernardo exit and want to hand him a new contract instead.
He tweeted;
“Understand Manchester City have told PSG and Barcelona that they have NO intention to negotiate at any condition for Bernardo Silva. Man City will also offer new contract to Bernardo very soon. Player’s position will be crucial; but Man City have been strong & clear.”

Silva has turned into a fantastic player for the Sky Blues since joining from Monaco in 2017, serving as a top-notch playmaker who can also score his fair share of goals. With a new contract on the horizon, Silva will have the opportunity to either put pen to paper with Manchester City and potentially finish out his career there or turn it down and force a move.
