“End tithing arguments” – Pastor Adeboye begs, suggests solution
Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), made a heartfelt plea to Christians worldwide, urging them to end the tithing debates.
This came after his viral apology video where he stated that ‘tithing isn’t compulsory and defaulters also have a chance to make heaven.’
In a new message that gained significant attention, he called for unity and understanding among believers on this divisive issue.
Acknowledging that some individuals, including fellow pastors, might have differing views, he encouraged Christians not to let these differences disrupt their faith or community.
Adeboye suggested a balanced approach and added that if one’s heart still feels inclined to give a tithe, one should find a church nearby that accepts tithes.
His plea reflects a desire to shift the focus away from divisive theological debates and promote a spirit of generosity and peace within Christian communities.
“I am begging all Christians all over the world, let this argument about tithe come to an end. Please, I know some of know much more than I do and I know that pastor of mine knows much more than I do.
“Let’s do it this way, if your pastor says he doesn’t want tithe, don’t leave his church. If all he wants is an offering, give him an offering but if your heart tells you to give God at least 10%, find a church nearby where they collect tithe, then give that pastor. So you don’t quarrel with God and your pastor so your conscience will be clear,” he concluded.
