He holds the esteemed position of being the official mascot for His Majesty the King’s Guard of Norway, receiving special ceremonial visits.
Historical records from 1961 show that the Norwegian King’s Guard took part in a drill display at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Sir Nils Olav III, now residing at Penguins Rock in Edinburgh Zoo, continues to hold the esteemed role of being the official mascot for His Majesty the King’s Guard of Norway.
