DSS denies arresting Emefiele, says he’s not in their custody
The Department of State Services, DSS, has denied arresting or having the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele under its custody.
Recall that shortly after President Bola Tinubu announced his suspension, reports emerged that the suspended Godwin Emefiele was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) for interrogation.
However, DSS, in a tweet on Saturday, said that Godwin Emefiele was currently not under its custody.
The tweet reads, “Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS.”
Emefiele was suspended sequel to an ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
