Drama as lady pulls out ‘diamond tester’ during friend’s engagement
A proposal turned dramatic after a young lady allegedly decided to test the authenticity of her friend’s engagement ring during the special moment.
The incident, which has gone viral on social media, was shared by user @MrAnuoluwapo on X (formerly Twitter), sparking mixed reactions online.
According to Mr Anu, during the romantic moment, right after the friend agreed to marry her partner, the diamond-testing friend swung into action to verify the authenticity.
Recounting the bizarre scenario, @MrAnuoluwapo wrote:
“Someone proposed to his girlfriend, and one of her silly friends brought out a diamond tester from her bag to check the ring. Bruhhh, I don’t know if it’s lack of emotional intelligence or just plain stupidity! That’s the weirdest thing I’ve seen in recent time.”
According to the post, the diamond passed the test. However, @MrAnuoluwapo expressed concern over the gesture, saying, “Yeah, at least from the tester. But then, what if it wasn’t? That’s my issue.”
The post has since generated a wave of reactions from many who condemned the friend for ruining the moment in an attempt to embarrass the man.
