Report from Fabrizio Romano suggests Borussia Dortmund are seeking to keep on-loan Chelsea star Ian Maatsen.
The football transfer expert claims the German giants are ready to trigger the player’s release clause worth £35m.
“Borussia Dortmund want to keep Ian Maatsen at the club beyond this season.
“Similar to Jadon Sancho situation, not easy but BVB will try to make it happen as soon as they know their summer budget.
“Maatsen, very happy at BVB. Release clause into #CFC contract: £35m,” the sports journalist added.
Meanwhile, Maatsen has impressed since making the loan move from Chelsea to Dortmund.
The 22-year-old Dutchman has put his performances down to being able to settle in with ease, starting as a mainstay in the club’s defensive lineup.

He has since made the left-back spot his own.
Maatsen has started each of 18 games under coach Edin Terzic, with last weekend’s 4-1 defeat at RB Leipzig the only game he has missed after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.
