Arne Slot will become Liverpool’s next manager when Jurgen Klopp bows out at the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Slot will join the Reds with a £9.4 million compensation deal agreed in principle with his Eredivisie club Feyenoord.
The 45-year-old Dutchman is said to be happy with the opportunity to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Negotiations are reportedly finalised for £7.7 million plus £1.7 million in add-ons, making the total deal worth up to £9.4 million, according to SunSport.
Liverpool are also reportedly targeting Feyenoord’s right-hand man Sipke Hulshoff, head of performance Ruben Peeters, and analyst Etienne Reijnen.
Recall Klopp had announced his departure from Liverpool in January after nine years at the club, paving the way for the young gaffer.
Meanwhile, Slot is a former midfielder who boasts a successful playing career.
He notched 50 goals in 164 games in a seven-year stint at his first club Zwolle.
