Dogara outlines key projects Tinubu must deliver to win Bauchi in 2027

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritize two critical projects in Bauchi State to secure overwhelming support in the 2027 elections.

Speaking over the weekend at the commissioning of a road project in Toro Local Government Area, Dogara urged Tinubu to revive oil exploration in the state and commence construction of the Bagel Dam in Dass LGA.

He emphasized that these projects would drive economic growth, generate employment, and enhance infrastructure, positioning Bauchi as a major economic hub.

Describing the initiatives as political game-changers, Dogara asserted that their execution would make campaigning unnecessary for Tinubu in Bauchi. “If President Tinubu starts the Bagel Dam project and revisits oil exploration in Bauchi, does he even need to campaign here for 2027? If you agree, say ‘Yes,’” he asked the crowd, who responded enthusiastically.

Dogara highlighted the benefits of the Bagel multipurpose dam, noting that it would provide electricity to all local governments in Bauchi South, fostering industrialization and economic development. Additionally, he underscored the financial impact of oil production, stating that Bauchi’s inclusion among oil-producing states would significantly boost its federal revenue allocation.

Addressing speculation about waning support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi, Dogara dismissed such claims, insisting that the party remained strong despite being in opposition at the state level.

He declared, “APC is very much alive in Bauchi. Those who think otherwise are only deceiving themselves. When the time comes, we will take back the state.”
