Spanish goalkeeper, David De Gea has expressed confidence that his contract extension talks at Manchester United “will end in a good way”.
The Spaniard’s contract will expire in the summer and the club is already looking towards the option of extending the agreement by another 12 months.
De Gea who has spent over a decade at Manchester United after being signed in 2011 from Atletico Madrid, told MEN that he would love to retire at the English club.
When asked if he is close to agreeing on a new deal, he said;
“Yeah, I’m very relaxed. Just focus on training, perform as best as I can. But, for sure, it’s going to end in a good way.”
When pressed on potentially ending his career at United, De Gea said;
“I hope so. I was saying this is my club, I’ve been here many, many years and it’s a huge honour to be here and I’m so happy here.”
