Daniel Balaji (T. C. Balaji) is an Indian actor and writer best known for his work in Tamil and Malayalam films.
Daniel Balaji, who was born in Chennai to a Telugu father and a Tamil mother, studied film direction at the Taramani Film Institute.
He comes from a filmmaking family, with his uncle being Kannada film director Siddalingaiah and his nephew being actor Atharvaa.

Daniel Balaji Early Life
Balaji was born to a Telugu father and a Tamil mother in Chennai. At Taramani Film Institute in Chennai, he studied film director. Siddalingaiah, the father of Tamil actor Murali, is his uncle, a Kannada film director. Atharvaa, his nephew, made his acting debut in Baana Kaathadi.

Daniel Balaji started his film career as a unit production manager on Kamal Haasan’s unreleased Marudhanayagam.
Balaji’s debut part was as a character named Daniel in the television series Chithi. Following the popularity of the show, director Sunder K. Vijayan renamed him Daniel Balaji in his second serial Alaigal, believing that he depicted his own character in Chithi.
April Maadhathil was his first Tamil film, followed by a role in Kaadhal Kondein. His first notable part was as a police officer in Kaakha Kaakha, alongside Suriya, who portrayed the protagonist.
Gautham Vasudev Menon’s film was about a squad of police officers fighting organized crime in Chennai.
Balaji went on to play the antagonist Amudhan in Menon’s next film, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, which was a box office success.
The film, which starred Kamal Haasan, was a police procedural about a string of killings. Balaji’s performance of both characters was praised.
Polladhavan, his following film, was likewise a success. He also played one of the villains in the Telugu film Chirutha before portraying the hero in Muthirai, which was produced by Vision Jeeva Studios.
