Correctional service assures protection of Bobrisky in male prison
Officials from the Nigerian Correctional Service have assured the safety of Mr Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky in the male section of the prison facility throughout his six-month imprisonment.
The decision came after Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court sentenced Bobrisky to jail following his guilty plea to a four-count charge of naira abuse.
During the court proceedings, Bobrisky clarified his gender status, affirming that he identifies as a man.
Prison officials, however, assured that adequate measures would be taken to protect Bobrisky from potential sexual violations from other inmates.
“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection,” they assured.
