Coronavirus: Okowa confirms Delta’s first COVID-19 case
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has confirmed the State’s first coronavirus case.
Okowa, in a tweet on Tuesday night, disclosed the patient is already receiving treatment at its isolation center.
Recall that the Nigeria Centres for Disease Control (NCDC) had confirmed sixteen new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
The NCDC tweeted: “Sixteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina.”

Confirming the development on his Twitter handle, Okowa said, “This evening, a patient in Delta State tested positive for the #COVID19 virus. This index case is already receiving the necessary treatment at one of our isolation centers.
“Tomorrow morning, I will be addressing our citizens on developments surrounding this case.”
