Confirmed: Mbappe at 25, acquires 80% stake in French club SM Caen
Kylian Mbappe has become the majority owner of French club SM Caen, securing 80% stake at just 25 years old.
The Real Madrid forward made the purchase through his company, Interconnected Ventures, with regulatory approval from the DNCG.
Former majority shareholder of the club Pierre-Antoine Capton has reduced his stake to 20%.
The €20 million deal, initially announced in the summer, is now official.
SM Caen, currently 13th in Ligue 2, aims for promotion to Ligue 1 under Mbappe’s ownership.
Though his role as an owner is still developing, given his active playing career, Mbappe’s involvement is expected to raise the profile of the club.
